I'm only seeing a version called 1.0 beta. Is that the new one, or is the 1.2 not yet available for download?

the download link is currently just here in the forum, at the end of the topmost topic/1st post; i have of course already asked otoy to also replace the download in the user account area, so this will also happen during the next few hours. it's still the same file linked here, so you are perfectly fine when grabbing it from here...

Is there a way to change the initial value for a parameter. For example roughness has an initial value of .0632, I would like the initial value for roughness to be .2, can this be done?

Thanks

no (not yet); could be made as an extension to the new node value menu, e.g. "set current value as default" + "clear custom default value"; i'll put it on my list...

installed ok, glad you put instructions on how to keep the installs separate cause I can't lose all my many months worth of octane work because of the change in format right now. I can't wait till you make that import module so I can resume work from existing files...thats a biggie for me.

But for now I've opted to redo settings for one file as a test and I can say there is some cool stuff in the plugin.

I came to post in particular thank the gods that we finally can preview color changes in real time, it was one of the features I missed most from the stand alone!

back to testing for me...

Hi t_3,
Thanks for the update.
I hope also soon to import old settings from previous work.
But now let's play on the new version with new creations.

I just noticed that Octane viewport doesn't show estimated render time anymore. I did find it rather useful.

Is it coming back at some point or is it gone for good?

it's in the window title bar now - needed to save some space in the progress bar; in addition you can this way check it by the taskbar icon when the viewport or studio is minimized...
