Hi,

yeah the OBJ importer can parse/use NGONS. :)

When I export a simple cylinder from MoI with the highest amount of polygons (exporting ngons), I get rendering artifacts like this. What might be the cause of it? The problem goes away if I export at lower resolutions.

Smooth error or invert normals ;)
Try output in triangles from MoI 3D

That helped. Ok so the best workflow MoI -> Octane is exporting triangles?

octane converts everything it reads to triangles during import,
so it does'nt matter if you use triangles or not. :)

once octane has loaded the mesh, it keeps it as triangles in memory.

Yes but I have some ngons mesh from MoI3D that Octane fail to convert to triangles and make very ugly results
But its maybe MoI3D fault, I don't know.
