What is the source of this? The close up of the mouth is different from the head on shot. I am amazed, and a little sceptical.

Our work was to track and composite digital tears for two shots and also to create a smooth camera pull back when we go from a macro shot of the women’s eye. The latter turned out to be trickier than it might sound. We had to mix different takes of the filmed pullback in order to have crisp material that was in focus during the full length of the shot. We also did additional texture and 3d work in the macro part of the camera move. The refined material was was then project onto a CG double in order to create a smooth digital camera pull back.
So the head is NOT CG, they made a 3D model of it just for tracking, only the tears/sweat drop is CG... Shame... :(

For my own, the most realistic CG humans that I have ever seen are from Liam Kemp :

Almost all his works are from 2003-2004. This movie is wonderful (and very sad too) :

French Blender user - CPU : intel Quad QX9650 at 3GHz - 8GB of RAM - Windows 7 Pro 64 bits. Display GPU : GeForce GTX 480 (2 Samsung 2443BW-1920x1600 monitors). External GPUs : two EVGA GTX 580 3GB in a Cubix GPU-Xpander Pro 2. NVidia Driver : 368.22.

The most amazing may be the hardware he had to make the movie :

Hardware (Visual):

Started with: Pentium 133, Matrox MGA Millennium graphics card, 96MB RAM, 1.2GB hard drive, Wacom 6x8 graphics tablet, 15” KTX monitor
Finished with: Pentium III 500, Oxygen VX1 graphics card, 384MB RAM, 90GB hard drive, Wacom Intuos 2 8x12 graphics tablet (after electrocuting old one with wrong power adapter), 17” Mitsubishi Diamond View monitor (23” Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 2070SB for final post stuff)
2 x Pentium 4 2.8GHz for rendering
French Blender user - CPU : intel Quad QX9650 at 3GHz - 8GB of RAM - Windows 7 Pro 64 bits. Display GPU : GeForce GTX 480 (2 Samsung 2443BW-1920x1600 monitors). External GPUs : two EVGA GTX 580 3GB in a Cubix GPU-Xpander Pro 2. NVidia Driver : 368.22.

Great movie....great find man

When i see what specs of hardware NASA had when they sent people on moon....Apollo mission ! nowadays smartphone is powerfull then nasa computers then

same stuff here :)

I'm wondering what could Leonardo da Vinci accomplish with computer :)

And as architect...i learn digital way of work (designing on my comp) but i enjoy most working with older experts who don't even know how to sent mail on comp :) ...

Computer and hardware don't mean anything if there is't grey matter behind it...
