Two new images. Almost done!
The insanely badly done engraved serial number is actually true to form. After years of working with space hardware, I have always been amazed at the impeccable quality of workmanship, even for Class III hardware (not meant for flight). So when I opened up this gauge I couldn't believe how bad the serial number was, and had to laugh. At first I thought maybe it had been done by an amateur. Then I thought maybe it had been done by a guy on crack. I finally decided it had to have been done by an amateur on crack!
The hand-painted markings on the dial are also accurate. They were probably made with an old style ruling pen. So that jog in the arced box was actually there. I almost hated to do it that way, but I am documenting history, so there is no leeway in that respect.
