Hi, the new "titans" are out there, but just in 3gb format.

The question is... how many times do you need the 6gb card?

Because the cost of the 3gb card is lower im thinking if its a good idea buy 4 of them instead 4 of the 6gb version (which will cost a lot!)

thanks!

You must also be aware that you must have enough System RAM on your mother board to "prepare" the scene before loading it on the VRAM of your GPUs.

8 GB is not enough to avoid swap on disk and loose a lot of time, for a 3GB card. Some projects requiring 3 GB of VRAM require 16 GB of System RAM + 2GB for the OS itself.

So, for a 6GB GPU, even 24GB or 32GB of system RAM may be short.

Added to that, it you are using Octane from inside your 3D software, with a plugin, you will need a lot of memory for your 3D soft too !

So, make sure that your motherboard can host enough RAM , otherwise you will not be able to fill a 6GB card efficiently.
