does this mean that we will be able to render also the render targets inside a group like the one in the "Old Preview Configuration"?
in this way we should be able to render animations with the material ball or in scene without a specific render target except for the preview one :roll:

yep, it doesn't matter anymore where the render target (nested or in the top level) is as long as you select it.
