So you would like to see 1.20.2 - 2.8 as the version number in the download area?
Thanks
Chris.

Yes .. thought this might help people to actually know exactly what they download, since we seem to be dependent on these numbers for bug fixes. I'm not sure if it can also be added to the Blender "About" infopanel as I could not find info inside Blender Octane of what I am running actually (although the installed Software list had the subversion showing).
The full version number is stated in Octane plugin description, in Blender plugins settings area.voon wrote:I could not find info inside Blender Octane of what I am running actually (although the installed Software list had the subversion showing).
Ok, not a problem.voon wrote:Yes .. thought this might help people to actually know exactly what they download, since we seem to be dependent on these numbers for bug fixes. As Jim says, the plugin version is only listed in the Addons list (search for octane).
We have had a couple of conversations here about version numbers because there are two important pieces of information.
1) The octane core SDK that the plugin is built against (this governs feature set etc)
2) The build number of the actual plugin (since there may be multiple builds with bug fixes using the same feature set (or SDK)).
So 1.20.2 means that it's built on 1.20.2 SDK and 2.8 means it's version 2.8 of the plugin.
It's a bit messy i know, but this is the best way we could come up with that gives the information most people will want.
Thanks
Chris.
