Hi,

I'm trying to figure out an annoying problem, not sure if it's octane or studio.

Daz studio will crash when applying mat poses on objects, but not always. I can apply a mat on a shoe and it will crash. I will reload the shoe and reapply the mat and it will work the second time. It usually always works on a fresh new scene. It seems to crash if for example i load a shoe and try five or 5 different mats, it will crash on the fifth. The problem is that i can not reproduce this, because i will try it again later and it will work.

I'm on the latest build of studio 64 bit. This has been happening ever since i installed octane and on 2 different machines.

Is anyone else seeing this or is it just me?

grabbing mats from studio during load is a tricky part depending on a lot different factors (including things like pc/disk speed), and also works quite different depending on the particular mat pose; does it delete the original mats or not, is it actually a mat script or just a settings file, ... i hope to come up with sthg. much more stable, but until then it should help to turn auto mat creation off and create new octane materials on demand...
The obvious is that which is never seen until someone expresses it simply
