hi, i have copied and pasted the thomas lua script of the colored cube in a txt file and saved it woth .lua extension.
on win7 it works, but a new scene with the cube was created closing my already opened scene without an alert message. i have got an alert with "file load error" instead, infact there are two mesh nodes, one correct named "my cube", and one empty named "loaded cube".
on mac, octane crashes as soon as you click the "run" button.

Is the obj file created from the script actually there on your disk?
We'll investigate the closing of the scene without an alert (did you have unsaved changes in that scene?) and the mac crash.
thanks,
Thomas
Thanks for the feedback, the problem is the default unit during the geometry import in the application preferences. If you set it to meters and then restart the application it should work. We will fix it with the next release.Myxyu wrote:Hi. I have a problem. win 8 gtx 590 latest drivers. Undisplayable material.

Alembic doesn't materials. Only geometry (animation) and cameras (animation).bepeg4d wrote:wow, impressive
a big thanks for the big update
very interesting the new node graph and node system, it's extremely powerful
i have tried to import an alembic scene with a simple camera animation and it's incredible
i have not get the texture but the camera animation is there and playing with the shutter speed is extremely funny
here is a simple example with the old benchmarck scene exported from c4d via alembicciao beppe

Well done.
Very stable for the first test release.

The colors washing out is a bug. We will fix it in the next release. But we will still require a dot as decimal separator.arh-osa wrote:Thanks for release!
It seems that color linearization of OBJ doesn't work correctly, 'linear' colors look like sRGB and 'sRGB' colors look like double washed out.
Custom separator (comma) doesn't work either.

Thanks guys!!!
Some preliminary remarks:
1. When orthographic (camera) is enabled - scroll (zoom in and out) is not working.
2. I am not sure (I'll have to check more obj files) but I have the feeling that objs are loading longer than in 1.20.

Hi all,
I've uploaded an Alembic rigid body physics animation with camera path to demonstrate how camera motion blur and rigid body animation works in Octane. Instructions are provided in the note. Enjoy!
EDIT: to load the file in Octane 1.21, choose File -> Open and pick "octaneshatter121.ocs".
P.S. Alembic file import is still a work in progress and materials should be easier to modify in the next iteration.
