Hi, it has been a while since I posted something, I'm actually working on pretty cool stuff involving realistic humans rendering, with nice hair etc, but I'm so frustrated by the fact that I'm not allowed to show anything, so here something I made recently in my spare time.
A friend on mine that works at Weta Digital (yes, the company behind Lord of the Rings), asked me to help him on a personal project, so he gave me a couple of sketches of a creature, and this is what I came up with.
Be aware that this has nothing to do with Weta, it's a PERSONAL work.

If you are interested, I will post more images about how it was made.
I hope you like it! ;)

Very nice. Thanks for sharing. The spittle or webbing adds to the overall beauty of the artwork. Very detail.

Ick! It gives me the creeps!

Which is to say... very realistic.

Nice job!

Thanks guys! I forgot to mention that this is a low-poly model. It's supposed to be rigged and animated in real-time.

How are you getting such great texturing? Are you suing 3D Coat or something ? Like the worn edges and attention to detail including the cracks and gouges in shell.

The sculpted mesh is very high-res, it's nearly 50 million polygons. I baked my textures in zBrush.

Excellent work Rikk (again), reminds me of Half-Life and Starship Troopers for some reason. How many polygons is the mesh in Octane? Can't wait to see the (real-time) animation.
