In your case, if you're considering the 30, I'd say buy two 27's for that price and you're set!

That's what I would do too.
I have two 27's at work and it's a good combo.

Are you happy with your Dell U2713HM ? I'm planning to get one, but there are all sorts of opinions about it.

Yeah, I'm happy with it. I haven't been able to get my hands on any calibration hardware though, just tried loading some profiles from reviewers.
Other than that it's fine. And the size isn't a problem if you get a big enough desk where you can have it a bit farther away than you would a 24 or smaller

A big screen has another problem: color delta across the LCD screen. The bigger the field of view (size/distance), the more likely to have problems in this test:

Low pixel density on most big screens is unanimously frowned. But one good thing about high resolution is to have more pixels than your target output. But damn modern tablets.
The 27" monitors have a high resolution but also the highest pixel density of the UltraSharps, which means more workspace in the smaller space.

I've bought the U2713H on Nov 7th and the ETA is Dec 19th
I was biased toward the HM since output is every more often digital anyways, but "somehow" (http://edition.cnn.com/2005/LAW/06/24/r ... te.prices/) in a given moment the H price on dell site dropped 40% against 20% for the HM and I decided to gamble for it because the viewing angle problem seemed marginal in the H in contrast to the HM, and that's is my greatest concern given that I think I can calibrate a display.

I'm scared for a couple reviews pointing tinting particular to the H model, but there's only so much of an informed purchase someone can achieve. Hopefully the selling point of PremierColor isn't mumbo jumbo.

I too was searching for a new monitor and read a lot of reviews on all these monitors. Finally I went with the ASUS PA279Q. I send a lot of materials for print all the time and this monitor have never let me down. It has a Color accuracy delta less than 2. Considering the price it's a real bang for the buck. Check it out!

Also 2x DELL 24" Screens with 1920x1600 resolution bought this spring. They great panels and colors for semi-professional use and can be calibrated.
