Hey everyone so I'm having this really frustrating problem with my model that I made in Revit Architecture by Autodesk.

Here is what I did:

Made the model in Revit then I exported an FBX and imported that into 3ds max using the "link FBX" button from the import drop down.

I've done this about a half a dozen times and I never get this problem.

When I render and orbit around the scene these weird triangles keep appearing and dissapearing. (I've posted 2 images of what this insanity looks like)

I haven't changed the version of 3ds max or Revit for a while. I've been working with version 2014 for the both of them and I haven't had this problem until today.

I don't know if anyone can help but it would be pretty awesome if someone has had this issue and been able to resolve it.

One last thing. The geometry has nothing to do with the triangles that are shown. If I didn't render I would never know that the model looked like this.

Thanks for the reply.

The scale is spot on. It's the same as it is in Revit.

I tried adding a cube I made in 3ds max and even that was affected by the crazy triangles.

This 3ds max sphere I just added in the scene really shows the problem.

As you know the 3ds max default sphere is made up of quads except for the top but it's doing this weird triangle shading thing on the parts that are composed of quads anyway.

My dude you are a genius.

Go tell someone that you deserve a hug and make sure they give it to you.

My scene was indeed very very far for the center of the scene.

I put it in the middle of the scene and boom shakalaka it was fixed.

Thanks a million times, now I can actually move on the the more serious things.

Take it easy
