Unfortunately, there's a limit of how many GPUs you can fit in one system. We have a system with 4 GTX780 GPUs. We could further extend it by something like a Netstor Box, but that's pretty pricey. For the price of that Box I can build another workstation. We're now looking into plugging two more GPUs in that system directly - the mainboard has 6 PCIX slots.
But there's no way we can plug all of our 16 GTX780 in one machine. Also, it doesn't make a lot of sense. Ideally, how it should work is that the renderer can access any GPU in any system. Those guys are making interesting progress in that direction: www.renegatt.com/solutions.php

someone has 8 gpu in a system. But to wait and see cloud version of Octane will be much better.
Octane For Cinema 4D developer / 3d generalist

not available at the moment. btw, how many gpu power you need to finish your job?miohn wrote:Hi,
I cannot find any info about that cloud rendering solution.
Would need it urgently for a job!

What we need is Octane-Team Render! No clouds, no buzzillion GPU machines. Just TR. And with some compelling pricing of the C4d plugins + whatever.
aoktar has shown that this works, but it doesn't seem to be in the current SDK. Hmmmmmm.
Has there been a little jumping the gun here? Shown us something we shouldn't have seen yet.
I suspect maybe yes........

well, have to render about 1800 frames for a project which needs to be ready an thursday.
Atm one frame takes about 2 - 3 minutes in HD. So as much as possible if I ran into
unexpected problems before deadline.
So I was searching for a renderfarm which supports Octane GPU rendering.
But haven't found any so far.
Any idear?
thanks

It definitely works without a hitch, unless you have a couple of offending plugins that is. I have rendered a few Octane things now via TR. Fortunately, we have 4 systems with standalone/plugin licenses, but i can see where this could be cost prohibitive for anyone who is not a company. I certainly hope they come up with a solution, so we can through Titans in all of our workstations.artdude12 wrote:What we need is Octane-Team Render! No clouds, no buzzillion GPU machines. Just TR. Are there NDA's attached to this? I can offer up our two 4x Titans machines to help out if needed.

Non disclosure agreement. Basically just means it's something that no one can see other than people working on the project. Secret project if you will.miohn wrote:Hi SVITAdmin,
sorry, what are NDA's?
Thanks very much for your offer!
Let me see, how far I get until tomorrow with my 2 titans.
Maybe I can come to you again tomorrow?
