This was simple (not photo realistic, but rather graphical) image done for a personal project - website dedicated to sweet wines.

The idea was to render out exact proportions of given objects (bottle of sweet wine & handmade wine glass) in a studio environment without showing too much of distracting details at the same time, just painting forms with the help of reflections.

This will be a series of images that should blend out in black background-ed website =) minimalistic typographic approach influenced the decision taken to produce images.

If it looks interesting for You, Just drop a line bellow & I'll upload some more stuff later.

Cheers

Great way of lighting even if the scene is very simple.

@igen - i think that reflections don't start on the borders of bottle. So between reflection and the border there is a space filled with reflection of black background.
The label has more rough reflection so it fills this space.

Tom Glimps - is that true? :)

the answer is here (the effect You're seeing is caused by light placement):

Very cool Tom!

Try some backlit ones as well. Your rim lighting already looks pretty good.

best,
O

Yeah, I'm playimg with that for other shots =) maybe not back light,
but rather top light in order to get some accents on the leg and liquids =)

takin' some inspiration from good sites, like riedel - handmade line, Sauternes glass:
http://www.riedel.com/collections/glass ... sauternes/

anyway, sometimes rim light only can do magic on it's own! huge respect for simplicity, here's agood example:

cheers
