This is the recommended thread for downloading, and posting any questions, suggestions or support queries for OctaneRender for Poser, build 1.20.2 (TEST RELEASE). This version is compiled against Octane 1.20.2, so see the requirements for that build regarding compatibility with your video card.

This version runs on Poser9/PoserPro2012 and Poser10/PoserPro2014, on Macintosh OS X Lion & Mountain Lion. It may run on Snow Leopard.

Installation
For the moment, the installer is a ZIP file. Paste the Runtime from the ZIP over the Runtime of the Poser/Poser Pro application. Select "Keep Newer" when pasting.

If you have a support issue, pls provide the following information:
- Operating System (ie. Mac OS X Mountain Lion)
- Amount of RAM
- Graphics Card(s) - model (ie. GTX 580, 3GB)
- Nvidia driver version
- Poser version (Poser -> Help -> About Poser) - list the build number (eg. 9.0.3.23027)
- OctaneRender for Plugin version (ie. X.XXa)
- Also have ready a copy of the octaneplugin.log and cuda.log file from your Poser temp direction (Poser -> Edit -> General Preferences -> Misc tab to find the temp directory)

Change Log from release 1.20a
- Pls see Window version thread for change details

Differences between the MAC and WINDOWS version
- You cannot rightclick the Progressive save button to open the progressive save folder
- Uses the standard Mac color picker rather than an "advanced" color picker

Oh shit - and yeah it is out!

but i run my mac pro 12 core on snow leopard - and i know that many professional will stay on snow because of stability and problems with plugins in some professional programms like final cut studio pro 7 etc.

maybe i try lion on my old power mac - i will see.

so your plugin will never be for snow leopard?

cheers

I have ML, which only runs XCode 4 (not XCode 3.2.6). With XCode 4 I can only find the option to compile for 10.7 or 10.8. There is no option for 10.6 (SL). So the issue is that I cannot compile the plugin to run on 10.6. The only option would be if I do away with ML and install SL. Then I could run XCode 3.2.6, however then I wouldn't be able to compile some of the other plugins that require XCode 4 (since XCode4 doesn't run on SL).

Hope that makes sense and that you can see my dilema.

Otoy have provided a new OSX build of the API, which appears to fix the issues from 1.20. I have also been able to (hopefully) compile the plugin so that it will run on Snow Leopard. Would appreciate OSX users giving the new version a try.

I have updated the installer at the top of this thread with the latest Octane libraries and latest Poser plugin code. All working well on my Mac, but it would be great if someone could confirm that on their system pls.

Also, I have uploaded a demo version of the OSX plugin at HERE

I have updated the installer at the top of this thread with 1.20.2.7 - to match the functional of the Windows version. Also added is a fix to make the Viewport always on top of the Poser window.
