plugin issues Help

sorry to hear this. I'm not sure why it happened. But i have been on driver 320.18 since months. I heard last drivers don't recognize cuda devices. Plugin uses same Octane core since 0.72 ( sdk 1.20.2). So there is no change in core part of Octane and plugin. some electronic parts of cards can be fatigued. Only my opinion. Did you tried two gpu on any other system?

very strange things on my machine, I think its messed up or somehow infected, I dunno... but my antivirus software (gdata) does not find anything.

Tried out all NVIDIA drivers from 280.xx to 320.xx... the only one that octane is running with now is 301.xx. With 280.xx the error screen comes up, and C4D doesn`t start, also tried with turbobox disabled, only 1 GPU... same. With 285.xx there is no error on start up, but octane doesn`t see any GPUs?
With newer version 320.xx and above Octane and C4D freezes when I click the send to render button.

Now with 301.xx Rendering is running, but after 15 Minutes or so the complete Desktop Icons and the task bar dissapears and the PC is somehow frozen!? No strg+alt+del is possible. Luckily octane renders the queue frame by frame... but when its finished it hangs up and I have to hard start the PC.
Googled this problem and only found infos about virus infection...


I don`t get it.
But to summarize... it seems nothing to have nothing to do with octanes code, more of a windows system problem. I remembered, I have done a Windows Update 8 days ago... and now thinking back the problems with bluescreens and freezings started to occur after that. Deinstalled it, but one KB... cannot be removed?

One GTX590 seems to be unstable, too, I disabled it.

Think I will buy a new ssd, do a clean reinstall and I think I will have to buy 1 or 2 Titans tomorrow to be able to hold up with my deadline... hope to get one on my local dealers.

And hopefully that won`t introduce new problems, mixing GTX590 and GTX TITAN...

Does`anybody know if it is possible to do a repair system install of win7?

hmm, can you ask to some Octane devs for this problems? I'd be trying to a clean install windows and other software if i have got these problems.
