Hi,

I'm currently looking at Octane Render which seems to be a very good rendering software. However it's difficult to identify Technical topics in the forum board. It is possible to create a specific dpt ?

I will buy a new PC soon.
I read that the number of CUDA cores is very important for OCTANE. Therefore this characteristic is leading me to one 660ti which has a good price / cuda cores ratio :)

However, i'm a gamer too, i read that you recommand to desactive SLI for OCTANE. Can you explain me why OCTANE is making a difference between 2 independant 660ti and 2 660 ti in SLI.

To be perfectly honest i have now 3 choices :
- one 660 ti
- two 660 ti (SLI)
- or a 780

780 is more expensive than 2 660ti.
780 is less noisy than two 660ti SLI
780 has less cores than 2 660ti separeted but i don't knwon regarding a SLI combo

Tahnks in advance

hi, in short, you don't need to deactivate the hardware sli, but only deactivate the multi gpu option in the nvidia control panel when you want to use octane, and reactivate it when you want to play games ;)
ciao beppe

p.s. go for one 780 now and add another one in the future, just my two cents ;)
