I have a warning that says LiveDB was disabled in my Maya scene settings. Where do I enable those settings? Thanks!

The live DB connects in my standalone version. I am probably making a really simple mistake and missed something obvious in the documentation.

Try turning on the Enable LiveDB refresh switch in the OctaneRender Settings tab in the Render Settings dialogue (it's in the Additional dropdown). I think that is what you are after.

This was added some time ago to stop users from having to wait for liveDB swatch generation unless we needed it.

Thanks TBFX, that changes my error code. Now it says LiveDB is refreshing swatches and hangs there after refreshing it. Are there any other nifty buttons I can press to fix that one too :D

Thanks again!

Not that I know of. Are you sure it has finished refreshing the swatches? The first refresh can take a while, I think that's kind of why the switch to turn it off was introduced.

I got my live DB working in maya. Thanks for your help TBFX!

It looks like my octane live account name and password hadn't been saved in the render setting preferences between reboots so it was putting me in offline mode. Sometimes it helps to look at the script editor!

so dumb noob question: I know how to do this in the standalone but.....
*How* do you apply a live DB material to an object in maya?

Assume I'm a moron and need step by step instructions...

OK Figured the first step out. You create the node and then it's available as an "assign existing material".

The names, however, seem to drop off of the pins on the nodes as compared with the standalone. Is there something I'm missing so that you can tell which submaterials you're supposed to use to assign to?

I am having the same issue, but I can't seem to put it into online mode...

How is this done?
Thanks.

Edit - just realised that Maya was being blocked by my firewall - but I accidently deactivated my Maya account... Need to wait 1 hr before seeing if I can access the Live DB now. :(
