hey guys , thank you for supporting me :D :D Finally requested by some users! I am ready to show you guys this tutorials to see how octane handle a heavy and large interior scene! ;)

This scene contains over 10 million polys and it's quite large  Render time is about 0.5-1 hour per renderings on 1*gtx680m laptop + 1*gtx690 desktop (actualy I can't wait for a long cook  ) The client wants this lobby looks more warmer and no sun light coming through ,but they also want the final render by tomorrow! So this is a one-day-jobs!! For given this opportunity, I decided to use Octane Render to see how octane can or can not handle this big heavy scene very well (I mean not only the render time, but also the quality!!In one day~~)

Finally here are those 3 renders! I have to say that octane handle this scene very well(well, sorry for a bit noisy, they didn't give me much time,so modeling cost me about half day....brabrabra....  ) But I think it's good to me, the client didn't say something about the noise! So ,that's so lucky!! :) :)

This video contains 1.8GB full HD and final scene (3ds max 2012 , octane for max 1.18 , octane stand alone 1.2) Which show you in depth material adjustment(as requested),render speed up,how to reduce GPU memory(as requested),how to setup light belts(as requested) and add many many spot lights! Also a post-pro video will show you how I do photoshop work(as requested)!I can't say post work is good, but as the client requested(sofa more purple, more contrat, more warmer brabrabra......The client is godlike huh?  )

I asked for support because the scenes were hanging in 3d studio max 2014 BEFORE opening.
He sent me a scene with standard materials only. Video tutorials are a bit confuse but helps.

:) :) hi all~ long time no see ^^
here I update a little test for exterior rendering! render time is about 15min for a single gtx680M!
this exterior scene eat me about 3GB video memory(actually it's about 2.2GB , 800MB for windows display)! my gtx690 is dead for this :( :(

Still need a lots of work to improve the detail , adding ivy , multiscatter grass , street lamps , etc...

but here is the draft preview , original render res is 3000pix(15min on a single gtx680m) downscale to 1500pix(a little bit photoshop , just add a day light background image)

OH By The Way, I think I may found a bug! for matte material, for example if u set all the building to a diffuse material and check on "matte" option, the building shows totally black(which is correct!) but!! the samp/pix drops down from 4.0MS to only about 0.9-1.2MS (which don't make any sense cuz I actually need to separate the building and the landscape, which called render layers :| :| but that's super slow :( :( :( )So I have to render the whole scene into a single image   But it's stupid! when client wants to change material for the building, I have to re-render the whole scene which contains the landscape! even if I set matte option to those buildings and render the landscape only, it's super slow~~ Can some know about this problem???
