Hi T_3,

I could help out with the alpha-testing since I use DAZ extensively. Give me a PM if you need help

I'm planning on buying another Octane plugin license for a second computer in Nov if/when NVidia drop the prices of the GTX780/Titan (after AMD release their new cards.) Is the DAZ plugin likely to still be in beta at that point? I'd prefer to buy it in beta as it's 50% cheaper. IOW will there be an announcement of a final release a few weeks before the final release?

I'm worried that this plug-in has not been updated for a long time while some problems. I hope that the money I paid is not wasted. I think envy that other plug-ins are repeated updates and bug fixes many times.

@Tofusan: i don't think that you have wasted your money...

@Spectralis: it might happen that we'll see the first non-beta release in november; but before that point is reached, there will be at least one RC released, means there will be 2-3 weeks until the beta state is finally left.

@all: since somebody asked about instancing support lately, i have asked some guys to give an appropriate answer:

I went ahead and bought a second version so I can build and test scenes using Octane on my established and reliable older PC and then render them on my faster new PC. So far this is working out well apart from a few glitches that are sorted for now.

I'm more of a hobbyist without regular income from selling work but DAZ without Octane is now unthinkable for me. It takes DAZ into a whole new league. I really don't think it's a waste of money as long as all the glitches are eventually ironed out for everyone. There's no way to get the Octane results with DAZ alone.

My only recommendation is that Otoy consider selling a discounted two copy bundle for those of us who want to use it on two computers such as a laptop or an old desktop. As a student who works at home and at college this would have been more affordable.
