Looks great. REgarding the focus.
I think for the map to appear in focus in the glass, you need to focus on the map. The assumption your making about the photo you showed as an example is that the flower in the glasss, is the same distance as the ones in the background. But if you look carefully, you can see just behind the persons hand and the glass, that they flower is a lot closer, and is in focus as well.

Thank you very much! I rendered it on a 570, so it would take less on a 580/680, I'm guessing something like 1:15 ? @gordonrobb, yeah, you are pretty much right.

Here's a test. Top render is without glass, the focus is on the checker plane (somewhere there - the lens mesh is blocking the picking tool and its a bit hard to set it manually (idea: if a surface has a portal material it should be ignored for picking)).

I've done some minor corrections to materials, now it renders slightly faster than before. The scene below was rendered for 1:19 (230 samples) on a GTX 570, which should be 1:00 or less on a 580. The whole zipped package with all resources embedded is 15.1 MB
Also, I've modified some of the materials from this scene for generic usage and uploaded them to the liveDB. * Non-Organic -> Metal -> METAL_Brass
* Organic -> Wood -> WOOD_Plywood
* Non-Organic -> Cloth -> FAB_Velvet-1a
The input parameters of the materials should be more or less self-explanatory

Those materials look really beautiful
One small correction though: velvet is made from silk, and silk is obtain either from plants or larvas. So velvet should be enlisted in the organic category, in my opinion
