hi ,
have a big problem in maya and would appreciate some help or insight

i set up my shaders
start the ipr , let it render up to 5000 sample ( 2400x2400 +/- 3 hours)
happy with the result

start batch render for 3 frames
come back 6 hours later and all the images have the same issue with some bright pixel appearing that screw up the glare

what i going on ?
why the ipr result is different than the batch render ?

I'm sure you have checked all this but just in case double check all the render settings are the same between the IPR session and the batch render and that you are testing the IPR render on one of the same frames that have come out of the batch render. If a single frame is taking +/- 3hrs and you are getting 3 frames out of the batch render in 6hrs then could the batch render be set to a lower max samples? Of course you may be using more GPU power for the batch render which would account for the faster render time.

I've never experienced a difference like this in render between IPR and batch but that doesn't mean there isn't a bug somewhere.

If it were a settings difference the main culprits would likely be:
Max Samples
Hotpixel removal
render Kernel
Caustic blur
sampling rate on one or more lights

hi ,
thanks for jumping in ..
sorry .. i did not express myself properly ... actually it was more around 9 hours (+/-) .. came back from a long road trip and was very upset about having to redo those renders  :-)

as for those discrepency betwwen ipr abatch ..
it's kind of weird ... it's not the first time it's happen .. and i did always assum it was me ..
but this time i am pretty sure that it's exactly teh same setting

but yes.. you are correct if i let the machine render and i do not do any other task ( surfing .. or even photoshop sometime ) .. teh renders are way faster .. going form 1.32 Ms/sec to 1.65 Ms/sec
