Hi,

if you have installed OctaneRender for Blender, and are getting this error
"Waiting for image" when you try to render or use Rendered Preview Mode,
please check that you have:

1. input your login info from your Octane Live Accounts, Octane Render Blender Plugin
(different from the StandAlone info)

2. You have the StandAlone license and it's activated...you cannot use OR4B without it.

If you still get the error, please post here. It happened to me and others here, but it's working fine now. :)

And if anyone else has something constructive to add, please do. ;)

Little addition:

If you can't start the OctaneServer (icon does not show in windows tray, or disappears quickly) - try to install this Microsoft update:

I will add the checking on this condition during installation in later versions, but so far, if your system is not up-to-date - it may be the reason too...

Ho,
@JimStar, in the manual it is not exactly declared that you have a different user/pass for Blender for Octane.
User may have wrote down there login information for standalone and don´t look in to the OctaneLive™ account.
Can you please change it?

Login procedure in manual for user not aware of it:

I'm getting a "Waiting for image" error message in Blender for Octane for both Render and Preview. I'm using Windows 8.1 x64 with all Windows Updates applied. I also downloaded and installed the Visual C++ 2010 x86 and x64 runtimes that are listed in this forum page. In addition I see that both my Octane Render StandAlone and Blender Octane User Id and Passwords are active in the octane live section of the web site. I have the latest NVidia drivers installed and Octane StandAlone version 1.20a win 64 installed. Octane StandAlone version 1.20A is working well. I see that the Octane Server is not crashing as it stays in the tray until I right click on it. I've tried to run the Server and OctaneBlender both as a normal user and as Administrator. I'm running Windows 8.1 64 on a 2010 MacBook pro that has a GForce 320M with driver version 331.82.

Thank for your help with such an innovative tool.

It will not work with 320M. Too old compute version.

Your GPU should have at least 2.0 compute version.
