Gpu memory
Hello friends, I wanted to know if octane render is able to use the memory of 4 gpus at the same time, because, we are planning to buy 4 nvidia titan for a project with a lot of fur and hair. Thanks.
It needs to place everything into each GPU so that each GPU can use it.
But... you can probably set fur and hair up as instances, in which case it only loads the geometry of one strand.

Memory won't be shared if that's what you're expecting.
The lowest memory would be the max Vram usable. if you use 5 cards with 6Go and 1 with 1Go the amount usable would be 1Go.
If all Gpu are 6Go then you could use 6Go to render your scene (the scene is loaded in each Gpu Ram)
The advantage is the render time divided by number of Gpu, 6 same Gpu render 6 time faster than 1.

Thanks for your replies guys.

In case you go with instances, note that instances can't have individual deformations - all inherit the deformations of the first one.
