kernel->alpha shadows onindexofrefraction wrote:just a question... i have an interior shot with some sunlight coming in.
i wanted to boost the light a bit, so i made an extra light rectangle outside the window
i made it invisible and that works of course, but it blocks off the sun light coming from behind.
it seems an invisible area light still casts shadows coming from other light sources.
is there any solution to that? no comp tags there, right?

do you have one gpu? If so renderer and C4D opengl share same memory. This will not give lot of space for rendering. You can try with software opengl to see differenceSc4rfy wrote:It' a problem of low memory or a problem of plugin? Because it's say that i have occupied 1 gb of 1,5 gb (gtx 480) but crash almost always

I think it might be a memory leak.I really hope you get the animation problem fixed. I get about 30-50 frames then it stops. I have the latest version. Very nice for stills but not so hot for animation.
I have just rendered a few animations with several hundred frames. With every frame the RAM usage increases slightly. After 200 frames of rendering I had roughly 20 GB Occupied by C4D / Octane.
And its not the Picture Viewer frame cache. I cleared the cache there and it only dropped 1-2 GB.
Cheers,
Raphael
