Camera Imager response Vs Camera tag respnose

In the Octane settings Camera imager tab, I've set the response to Linear. I can also change the response in the Octane camera tag, I've set the Octane tag to F400CD.
What camera response is will Octane look at first and use? Are the camera response settings stacking or mixing in a way?

Could someone please explain how Octane determines this? Should I just use the Camera imager in Octane settings?

Camera Imager has priority, global settings will be ignored as you can read in manual
