I am currently using 2x GTX660 Ti boost cards but I'm getting a little antsy with my deadlines and the price of the gtx690 and gtx titan have only $200 dollar difference between each other 999 and 1249 respectively, the 690 has 3k cuda cores and the titan has 2.6k cuda cores.....
any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
Alistair
gtx 690 4gig x2 or gtx titan 6gigx2

Go with Titan if you can.
With 690GTX you will only have 2GB VRAM, and more heat and power consumption.
With Titan, you will have a better overclocking (if needed) if you can cool them down.

I have 3 titans before Nvidia release the 780GTX.
The best value performance/price for octane, I think that is now the 780GTX 3GB.
3GB is enough for most standard scene.
For the price of 2 titans you could have 3x780GTX that have better performance.

Good point, depends on your type of scenes.
Mine generally take up less VRAM, product shots, ect. So if your work is like mine, the 3 780s would prob be a better way to go.
I only have 1.5 right now (a 690 and a 580, the 580 has 1.5) and have never come close to filing my VRAM. well, I used to, but now I have a dedicated video card for display.
