Regarding the speed improvement: This affects scenes with many mesh emitters distributed throughout the scene. If you have only one emitter or only sunlight, there is no improvement. It's also not increasing the sample speed (aka "Ms/s"), but how quickly the noise clears up. And one more thing: It's not decided yet, if the feature will be in 1.5 or 2.0. We will see.

Regarding UV transforms: It's not UV transform nodes, but you will be able to apply a transformation to image texture nodes and choose a border/wrapping mode which defines how image textures are rendered outside of the [0,1] UV range.

Cheers,
Marcus

Thx for the clarification, still pretty cool though, I can't wait for the Visibility groups. 8-)

Does Alembic import mean we'll be able to render animations in Octane standalone?

Eventually yes. When we will get there, is not clear yet.

Please, don´t forget Motion Blur :-( , not only for objects and camera but also for deformations.

Not at all. There are even a few features that didn't get mentioned - stereo rendering for example.

Thanks for the link, very interesting.

Would there be any speed-up for a scene lit with HDRI and a couple of mesh emitters, or will that be negligible?
