Hi everyone, I need help to map some text and decals to a surface that has a plain color and a little bump map..sadly I'm getting old and need advice..

i don't know what software are you using for modeling ,but i would

use unwrap command (i use blender for this stuff)

When you unwrap your surface, export UV layout of that surface to Photoshop

There, in Photoshop you can adjust your maps (add letters, decals,create bump,normal,specular maps)

Export it back, assign that maps to that surface and you are ready to render !
