I think that this bug is fixed now. You have a test build in your messages inbox.

It should work like the native LW render region. You can also use the "l" hot key to enable it.

I knew how to use the limited region, just couln't get it to work with Octane, but then I just realised it only works with F9. Any way of it working with the IPR?

No, sorry ... currently limited region only works for final render.

Hi Juanjo,

the current plugin version crashes my LW 1.6 when trying to enable the plugin.
Does it work with LW 1.6 or do I have to wait for an update ?

Currently there is an issue inside the Lightwave 11.6 pre-release SDK that could make Octane plugin crash as soon as user try to enable it. We are working on fixing this problem since we discover it some weeks ago. Lightwave developer team want to fix it to make possible use the same plugin for all Lightwave 11.x versions, but if it is not possible for the final 11.6 release I will release a new plugin build for the 11.6 to fix the problem.

Juanjo, is our OctaneLW Displacement completely full-featured displacement?.. I have not had anything come up yet that I have been able to test this yet - and have had little time to experiment.

I ask because, as you probably know, I am the one who started The Wishing Well (formerly The 1.2x Wish List) and there are many guys going ape-shit wanting Displacement, among many other things... It just seems to me that since we do have displacement, render region, SubD and other features that are highly desired by these guys, maybe you could get some of these folks to actually convert to (or at least add to pipeline) LW?... they probably have no idea that one of the Octane plugs supports some of this crap that is not available elsewhere.

But if our displacement is not exactly what they are clamoring for, disregard the above... Just trying to put some more moolah in your pocket. You deserve every penny you get.

Octane for LW support displacement and SDS because it uses Lightwave to get the final gemetry. I think that people ask for this features to be native inside Octane to make possible for example displacements in the Standalone.
