Interesting, i cannot give bump effect on your material. But created a new one added bump texture without problem. I'm going to send you. Also a note: to use c4d noise is not a good idea, native octane textures are better. c4d textures not support any updates, you need restart the render to see changes.NVN wrote:hi aoktar!

Hi aoktar !!
Very well done. All I tested so far did work without any problems.
I really love to work with octane and I now manage 80% of my jobs with it.
But now the thing I've been waiting for is programmed for the standalone and I can't wait to get it in the C4D-Plugin...it's the Background-Image.
Combined with animated-texture-support I could finally start to do my VFX-Jobs with Octane too
Hope this comes soon...
Greetings Chris

Hi Subroutine49690,
it's very good to hear these. I hope you can do great works. Actually plugin has a experimental support on Live viewer only. But need to be improved for commercial usage.
Also i like to announce that OSX version is ready for downloading with SDK 1.20 and improved stability and new material update algoritms. Links is on first page.
Enjoy it

hi aoktar,
amazing as usual! what's the roadmap for the next versions?
an update for the LiveDB viewer would be nice, so that it loads all thumbnails for an overview.

Floating.Point: what is the way? From material editor or Live Viewer commands?
Some planned features:
-Improvements for Live Viewer usage
-Improvements Livedb interface
-Better materials convertions(still has no complex convertion)
-Geometry updates(some optimisations)
-Improvements for material gui's
-Scene exchange between C4D/Standalone
-Material node based editor
-Support for new Octane releases

Hi aoktar!
Just wanted to say thank you for the last release (0.72).
I rendered about 7000 animation frames the last two weeks, both Hi-Res and Lo-Res, and didn`t have a crash during rendering with the picture manager! Even scenes that crashed while rendering animations with 0.69 seem to be stable now.
But once I got a complete system restart while rendering with the render manager and added several jobs, no clue why, just came back to my PC and it has been restarted. But mostly even this type of rendering (render manager jobs) seems to be stable now.
Thats really great and helps me a lot and is fine for my production pipeline, so I am quite happy with C4Doctane at the moment
Nevertheless I had a few random crashes while working on scenes, but nothing specific I could reproduce.
One (maybe bug) thing I mentioned is a strange behavior when animating Materials (for example the opacity mix falue to make something show up) and animate two objects towards each other at the same time, so that they touch each other. I had some strange color changes showing up at the moments (dark grey, only 1 frame) while 2 Planes of for example a cube meet each other. It was showing up in the octane Live viewer and while doing final rendering in the picture manager renderer as well.
Both Materials were specular materials (glass), only one material was animated (opacity) and the objects where animated simply the way, that one cube came out of the other one while the opacity value was animated from 0 to 100% on the moving cube.
So hope that helps somehow to reproduce it, maybe it is a common specular material mixing problem or maybe it is a bug of octane?
