Hello,
As noted, any texture I add to an Octane material fails to appear (jpg format). I placed the texture into the slot available in the Diffuse channel of the diffuse material. The shader ball shows white, as does the object in the Octane render window. I have tried everything I can think of, and according to the documentation, I am following the correct process.
Any advice?
Jay Roth

Can you check this simple scene? It has two different usage of bitmaps. One is standart bitmap, other is octane imagetexture

FYI, the file I was using to test is from the C4D demo content: Bruno. In that file, no textures appear, however, if I create a simple sphere in a new scene, then the same textures do appear.

Hello Aoktar,
in your file, both textures appear. As I noted in an earlier reply, the file I was testing was from the C4D content, called "Bruno". It is in the character animation examples (geo update doesn't fully work with that file either, so it might be good test content for you.)

hmm, because need to save the scene. Plugin uses a temp directory for textures, if you use noname scenes with preset materials you cannot see textures. this is saved result of brunojayroth wrote:FYI, the file I was using to test is from the C4D demo content: Bruno. EDIT: i did'nt read part of geo updates not working words. If you apply tags as in picture will go.

Good to know, thanks!
I am having an issue with a more complicated production file that contains numerous layered textures and the Greyscale Gorilla lighting kit. These are typical C4D tools. Any idea when you will support them? I was hoping to use Octane for this project, but I am running out of time to debug. My project has almost a hundred materials and textures, so I cannot manually convert to Octane format (and wouldn't want to in any regard). It could be RAM limits on my GPU card - GTX670M - 3072 MB dedicated)
Thanks!
Jay

I have to check this joy to say anything. Octane has no direct layer support. Plugin does some convertions for this kind of standart textures and shader, but it's limited. Some shaders and layers cannot work sometimes. As you say gpus has some limitation on texture count and size because of memory.jayroth wrote:Good to know, thanks!

OK, regarding the Bruno file, I can see the updated geo now, following your screenie. However, I am still not getting the textures to appear. They do show up in the material after conversion (did you convert yours?) but still appear as white on anything shaded

if you save the scene and still don't getting textures, try to activate this option in Settings->Shaderto Texturejayroth wrote:OK, regarding the Bruno file, I can see the updated geo now, following your screenie.
