I'm a fan of Daz3D so I purchased the Octane Standalone and Daz3D plugin combination. The standalone application instillation and activation was easy and straight forward. I then installed the Daz3D plugin and activated the plugin using the Activation Manager. Now I'm at a point where I'm unsure of what to do next. When I pull up the Octane Render Main window (Render>>Octane Render Main), there's no button that says "Render" or anything. None of the buttons within the OctaneRender window seem to do anything except for the "Log Win" button. When I press the "Log Win" button I get the following error message:

OctaneLive Account Error:
No OctaneLive account is currently activated on this machine, or the account has been deactivated due to possible abuse. Please activate an available OctaneLive account, or contact the OctaneRender support ([email protected])

I emailed Octane support and informed them of the error message they recommended that I reinstall the Daz3D plugin using Administrative Rights. I've re-installed using Administrative rights and I'm still getting the same error messages. Can someone please get me on the right track? My setup is as follows:

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate (64 Bit)
Daz3D Version: Daz Studio 4.6 Pro
Daz3D OctaneRender Plugin Version: Beta 1.0 R11 25Mar. 2013
OctaneRender Version: 1.20

Thanks in advance for your help/support.

hi!

... lets check a few things:
- have you done activation like showed here? http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=29942
- please post or pm a screenshot showing the state when the "log win" button is visible.
The obvious is that which is never seen until someone expresses it simply

in addition:
- did you have the standalone version already installed?
- if not, did you install the standalone version before the plugin?

btw, the plugin doesn't need the standalone to be installed; from what you posted it seems that the 1.13 octane version (plugin) isn't able to read the 1.20 activation information (standalone).

please try the following:
  • deactivate both licenses
  • uninstall the 1.20 standalone
  • you will need to wait 1 hour until going to the next step...
  • use the plugin activation manager to activate _both_ licenses;
    if this fails (e.g. it won't request you to enter both licenses) we need to investigate further.
  • if this works, the plugin should be up and running;
    btw, rendering starts as soon you open the plugin viewport, and of course there is some content in the scene.
  • now re-install the latest standalone...

Hello t_3,
I'm attempting to perform the steps that you've listed. I've deactivated both licenses, uninstalled the 1.20 standalone, and I waited an hour like you previously instructed. However, when I attempt to use the (DAZ) plugin activation manager to activate OctaneRender. It says "Invalid OctaneLive plugin account or wrong LiveId/password combination (see screenshot):
Invalid Octane.jpg
However, when I use my DAZ Studio OctaneLive Username/Password, the Activation Manager accepts it. So, it looks as though the activation plugin manager likes my DAZ Studio plugin username/password but not my OctaneRender username/password.

Do you have any suggestions on what I might need to do from here?

most probably this means that there is some mismatch with your account data. i'll forward it again to otoy, to have them check your accounts; hope they'll get onto it right today...

Not sure if you've found a solution for this but I had a similar issue when Daz is not installed on the C:. I had to copy the Octane DB from my C drive to over the DB on D to get it to work properly.

Everything worked fine when I intially installed the plugin but when I tried to upgrade Daz to 4.6 is when I started getting the errors.
