Hey Guys,

Just doing a few low-res tests on jewelry. Would love to get some more realistic caustics with the diamond! If anyone has any suggestions or tips on creating more realistic textures for either the diamond or the gold let me know!

Yeah this was rendered with HDR. However it was an interior light setup HDR not an exterior.

It looks good, but I wouldn't light with hdri, it if you do, have lights as well. I've had some success with diamonds and caustics. As Gabriele says, you want to make sure your dispersion coefficient is right Use between 4 and 5% (I think). Also, render it in PMC, a lot of depth and let it cook a long time.

My np best attempt can be seen here.
