I'm not sure if it is fixed in 1.17. It could be I'm doing something stupid but the post I made last week or the week before about bump maps was the same behaviour that Rikk is talking about. I'll have a look at it tonight to see if I get the same behaviour.

K so I don't know about normal maps but bump maps appear to be working.
