Well, I´ve been testing different kernels for this scene, and honestly, I don´t see much difference from AO, diffuse, PT or PMC. I will render a smaller version in PMC (my humble 550 will take too much time for a big size in PMC). So you can check one versus another. Give me some time.

Here is the comparative: PMC vs AO. Sorry for the small size, but I can´t let it cook longer.
Anyways I think the changes are very noticeable this time. Better overall light distribution, the metals are better solved, the diffuses look more natural, the contact shadows are way better, and everything in general, although look less defined, it makes it look more real. In fact, I would say the AO version is too much defined.
