0.6.6 crash, c4d doesn t want to load
0.6.4 unstable
stable version for me is 0.59

Beta 0.68 (SDK 1.18 ) obsolete

Same for me.
- C4D-Octane since 0.59up and Standalone cannot work on same machine, one always tells me that the other licence is activated on 'another' machine.
- 0.64 worked when Standalone licence is deactivated, but not together with an activated Standalone licence
- 0.66 hangs up C4D on startup, showing mouse-circle forever.
- Octane since 0.59up is not compatible with TurbulenceFD-plugin (I have the most recent TurbulenceFD_C4D_v1-0_1160le)
Sorry, but the licence-problem is really annoying and kills all fun.
After going back from 0.66 to 0.64 I had to recover the account and now I wait again 30 minutes before this hopefully will work
and I can continue my work.
This is nor nice nor fun.
Maybe Otoy could deactivate the delay time for the moment until these problems are solved so we can activate our products without having to wait for at least an hour and if it doesn't work, again an hour and so on.
Best regards,
Ralf

We are currently looking into reducing the deactivation delay. There some technical reasons why there is a delay which we have to solve first.
To understand the activation issues, I added some logging to Standalone 1.18 and the SDK 1.18. As soon as the plugin runs without crashes, we will hopefully see what causes these problems. They seem to be C4D specific and I really don't have an idea that could be.
Cheers,
Marcus

Hi Marcus,
thanks.
Before 0.6, all licences worked fine together on the same system.
Standalone 1.18 along with C4d-plugin 0.59 worked, after the upgrade to plugin 0.64 the licence problems began.
Hope you can solve this soon.
Best regards,
Ralf

Hi All,
Sorry for crashing problem. We have a critical color histogram problem.
Please stay for actual working version until we resolve problem.
Thanks

1. Delete all octane files from the Cinema root folder
2. Put the c4dOctane folder into the plugin folder
3. Make sure the 64 lib folder and 32 lib folders are in the c4dOctane folder
If you do this is should work fine.
There is no need to put any files in the root folder in the newer versions.
Only the 0.50 version use the root folder installs.
I have now got 0.5.9 & 0.6.4 working (not tried 0.6.5 yet) by doing everything above plus:
4. Copying octane.dll & octane.dat from my Libs64 folder into my C4d main folder.
Hope this helps others.
However, @aoktar the combed histogram problem that I reported and attached a file for in 0.5.7 is still there in 0.6.4!!! Data loss in the image file is not good. Sadly I'm going to have to go back to 0.5.0 until you can confirm this has been fixed so there is no data loss in the final render.

This for only people who has problems. I have detected a few conflict with some plugins.
Please remove c4doctane directory completely, don't replace.
Delete and copy new one. Also if you have octane.dll, dat files on main folder remove them.
If you get a message about not found octane.dll please report and copy libs64 files to c4d.exe folder
this for R13 and R14 (64Bit):

Hi Aoktar,
I get same problems as others even with your latest 0.6.6.b - in that c4D just hangs with the Windows 7 loading circle and will not start (tried run as admin).
I am on Win 7 x64, Geforce Titan, latest drivers.
I have emptied plugins folder and tried your suggestion of deleting octane.dll and copying libs64 folder to main C4D folder but no luck.
The last version I got to work is 0.5.9 - which only worked after I followed another users suggestion in this forum to copy octane.dll and octane.dat to main folder, and ensure that standard C4D layout was in use, as it would not activate with octane tab in customized layout.
Thanks for all your hard work

Hi aoktar,
0.6.6a and 0.6.6b is also still crashing with endless mouse circles on start up here.
I am quite fine with 0.6.4 at the moment for my work, had no crash so far.
Did anybody who also has the licensing error problems tried to remove C4Doctane from the start up layout? That worked for me..
Cya later,
ChrisVis
