This is the recommended thread for downloading, and posting any questions, suggestions or support queries for OctaneRender for Poser, build 1.17a (TEST RELEASE). This version is compiled against Octane 1.17, so see the requirements for that build regarding compatibility with your video card.
This version runs on Poser9/PoserPro2012 and Poser10/PoserPro2014, on Macintosh OS X Lion & Mountain Lion. It does NOT run on Snow Leopard or earlier.
Installation
For the moment, the installer is a ZIP file. Paste the Runtime from the ZIP over the Runtime of the Poser/Poser Pro application. Select "Keep Newer" when pasting.

I have refreshed the installer at the top of this thread. It contains an important bug fix (third point listed below), so pls download and install.
1.17a5
- Selecting a tree item now correctly selects float and int edit boxes in the node edit box
- Fixed issue where a python exception was raised if PoserPython closed the Setup window prior to the Viewport
- Fixed issue where clicking the new "absorption" node pin "priority" was raising a python exception. This pin is not used and can now not be connected

Hi Paul,
Im using this build and when i try to open view port its telling me i have too many textures, ive got a 4 gig card and its working on the v16 test build. I looked at the default py file and do not see any options to set this anymore.
Ive stripped out a lot of stuff but it looks like its grey scale that is is too high. With 4 gig card is 64 max?
any thoughts?
----------------------
Total Num Texture Maps (rgb) : 78
Total Num Bump/Trans Maps (grayscale) : 88
Total Memory Required for Textures : 1571.7MB (assumes only LDR textures)
----------------------
Finished. Note: 'Num Bump Maps' excludes bump maps that were counted in the Texture/Trans Maps count

Are you using the Mac build or Windows? The max texturefiles is now set in the configuration window (click Settings in the plugin). For the 600 series cards you have a limit of 68 grayscale (B&W) maps. You have a limit of 144 color maps, so simply change some of the bump maps in the scene from "floatimage" to "image" (so they are counted as color instead of grayscale).

I have refreshed the installer at the top of this thread. It contains the following changes:
1.17a6
- If the configuration file (config.xml) becomes corrupt, the plugin will automatically re-create it and give a warning message
- Re-enabled minimizing the Settings window (Windows only, does not work on the Mac)
- Fixed issue where focus picking the Viewport was not saving the focal depth to the Poser scene
- Fixed issue where clicking the "Refresh" button whilst the render was paused was not refreshing the Viewport correctly
- Added "Expert Mode" in the Configuration screen to turn off all confirmation messages when editing in the Materials tab. Also turns off the "No Rendertarget settings were found for this scene." message when starting the plugin
