Octane for C4D (.5 and .5.7) error-doesnt run

I have successfully installed Octane Standard on my HP Z820 running Win 7 Professional.

I followed the video for installation of the C4D Plugin and place it in the plugin folder. I start C4D (both as admin and regular way) and I get an error message.See Attachment 1 below.


When I open C4D I see only the tab for the Octane Live Render, not the other one shown in your installation video.

I have added the .dlls indcated to the C4D main folder as indicated in your installation guide and still get the error with or without them there.

I have placed it correctly in the Plugins folder. Again, I have tried using Version.5 and Version .5.7.

Please help me find a way to get the Octane Cinema 4D plugin to run. The Octane Standard runs just fine.

Hi lasvideo,

you should remove all the Octane files in the C4D root dir. These only need to be there with version 0.3.4. With most higher versions these files seem to cause problems, sometimes even crash C4D at startup or making it not starting at all. I think aoktar didn`t update the manual for installation instructions yet.

This error message is unknown by me, cannot really help you with that.
But one notice: You shouldn`t post pictures with your standalone and plugin account data...you should remove it or make it unreadable, only to be sure no one else tries to use it.

Are you sure you downloaded the R14 plugin version?

Have you started the standalone Version 1.16 or 1.17 yet and put in your account data there?
From your live account screenshot it looks like the standalone is not yet activated. Maybe that causes the problem?

That is mighty strange cos I have 'octane.dat' and 'octane.dll' in the root directory of my R13- If i take them out cinema crashes on startup...

Am I missing something?

why do you stick on 0.5x. grap a copy of 0.69B. Crashes can be caused from a other plugin.
Last versions not need copying octane.dll/*.dat files to root. Only turbulenceFD plugin has some problem. When you have it you must copy to main folder

Hey there, yes I have upgraded to 0.69B

It's Turbulence FD that's the problem I think... I have the demo loaded... will remove!
