I've also found myself playing with the HDRI gamma more often than not, to get better shadows.

So the HDRI you use for this image in particular is an exterior one, I see? I mean vegetation all around, 360 degrees, with sky above and grass/ ground below?

Have a good weekend
yes a standard HDRI files ;)

always been curious to how this mix of sun and hdri is done...

Nice images, but I think your camera needs to be 90 degrees to the brick wall, as it's not quite, and it might as well be 90 degrees

and then, with a scene like this, would you just model each brick or 5 or 6 variants of?
Hi, sorry yes is overlay mode !!!!

Camera in 90° ??
Bricks are just a Material standard. No model each, the time, the time ;)

Hi, sorry by camera 90 degrees I mean perpendicular to that end brick wall, so its lines are horizontal rather than being slightly off?

might as well....
workstation well past its sell-by-date, Vista 64 bit (!) with a pitiful amount of RAM, re-invigorated with a GX 590

3ds Max Design 2011 (have 2013 but can't be bothered to re-do all the UI), CS5, and that free z-brush program, whatever it's called
