or simply try to get octane to render offline images with the desired resolution ( like vray or other renderers)
i dont know if this is possible with octane.

Since obj won't use instances, what would it be? collada? In my case at least obj will be of no use then, cause I don't have a single scene that doesn't use instances.

What about this:
When will the sun do through the windows? Because right now, only the sky reaches the interior but the sun does leave shadows on the exterior walls, but once it reaches the window it's like the sunlight can't do through the specular material.
