Hi guys !
I've been practising modelling cushions and sofas lately, as I'm usually really bad at that kind of thing.
So here's a sofa with a table, a vase, a book and a carpet.
I'm not sure about what other stuff I'll add, but it'll probably be more books, and a nice "sculptural" vase like the one below (picture taken from the internet)
- PMC
- HDRI Map only, no other light source
- 15,000 samples (1h15 mins with 2 GTX680)
- some levelling with Photoshop
Feel free to send comments & advice, as usual !
Cheers,
Madcoo
Black sofa and stuff... ;-)

really a nice sofa model Madcoo,
the render is really good but I think that the time is quite huge for this kind of scene....haven't you tried the AO mode?

Hi Paolo, thanks for your comment
Indeed it's quite a long rendertime - I think it's due to the carpet (made of 65,000 individual "hairs") and lots of polygons for the sofa too.
Having lots of polygons for the sofa helped me sculpt it.
The next challenge in my practise (for sofas and such furniture) will be to use less polygons and a bump map to generate the creases.

the right place for the vase is on the left or right sofa's side.

nice Images! though I would tweek the output size/format
/for the flower a bit taller & for the sofa just step back a bit,
'cos now frame don't leave a spacefor aofa to 'breath'/ =)

Hi guys, sorry I hadn't seen you had replied !
Thanks for your input
Gabriel => do you mean that the vase should be on the left-hand side because it "catches the eye" too much in terms of composition ?
Glimpse => yes I'll have to work on that - the table is about 1.50m away from the sofa, but because my camera's focal is so short it looks like there's no room for one's legs.
Proupin => thanks!
Here's the latest version, which I rendered BEFORE reading your comments

I agree totally. At the current place, it looks more like a spittoon than a vase !nice...but put away that red vase!
the right place for the vase is on the left or right sofa's side.

It would be a a better place close to the wall on the side of the sofa.
