Hi,
I have 2 GTX 465, (I just got the second one right now) and I plan to use both to speed up my renders with octane (mostly using the 3ds max plugin)

Now, I would like to know if I can have a third (and cheap) graphics card just to be able to multitask (simple stuff like opening folders, checking other files or browsing the web)

I ask because I'm just not sure if this would be compatible... In this case I would have 2 gtx465 for octane render, and a cheaper graphics card, lets say, a geforce Mx 400 (that was a bit random, I still need to check if that's compatible with my motherboard :P but it caught my attention because it has a s-video output and that's actually still usefull for me)

But that's the idea, I just want to make sure this would work

(my motehrboard is a gigabyte x58a-ud3r if that makes any difference)

Thanks!

this is exactly the optimal setup.
I didnt look at your motherboard to see if it will work.
But, what you want is to have a "cheap" video card for your main display and your expensive cards for rendering. With this setup, you can do anything you want while rendering and it wont slow down your render times.
