I have a quick question regarding exportation of object files from poser to octane render standalone version.

I have successfully exported my object file.

When I tried to import it , it keeps asking me for all the associated material files.

Is there any easy way to export all of my materials associated to that object within poser I cant seem to find a simple answer.

Rather than looking for all the files within the runtime directory manually.

I hope this makes sense

There is an Octane API function to export all the materials to OCS (currently disabled from the Poser plugin, but easy to add). However there is an issue with this function for Poser in that when you export the OBJ from Poser the material names will not match the materials in the OCS. In fact, there is no way to match them in Octane Standalone. The OBJ will have "SkinBody", and the OCS will have "4", so there is no easy way to match them. Plus, you will have 1000's of nodes in the OCS and not be able to find the actual material nodes.

So in summary, at this stage you cannot export to Octane Standalone. But Otoy are working on a solution for this.

What is it in Standalone that you want to do that you cannot do in the plugin?

Just in case you do want to try out - use Collect Scenery - a script in Poser. That way all the materials will be dumped in a single folder and you can load the object from that location. That should find the materials.

But I am not sure you want to see a reasonable Poser scene in the standalone version - the number of nodes and pins is pretty overwhelming....
