Why is that? Do I need to download another pack for these missing materials?
Lead Crystal and Diamond are two I'd love to use... but missing.

There was at some point some materials that caused the plugin to crash, also wondering if its still the case.

You mean the two, which can be found at "Materials - Non-Organic - Glass" ?

I can't load both of them, too :-/

Deane - I can see "Diamond_Physically_based_clear" in the plugin LiveDB. Is that the one you are looking for? If not, which category are these materials missing from?

Everything appears to be in order with the plugin. The Otoy web server is not returning a material for Diamond. I have escalated this issue to Otoy.

I have heard back from Otoy - and these 2 material have not been setup in the LiveDB correctly by the author. So for the moment, they are not useable. May I suggest loading them into Octane Standalone, then manually transferring them to the plugin. Then save to .poe for later use.
