Hi all

I finnaly got Octane and poser plug in and loving it.

I am however having a pretty hard time with these hotpixles showing up a lot on renders, mostly on skin. Can anyone tell me how best to resolve? I am doing 6000 passes and perhpas i should let it go longer? I also tried to adjust the setting at 7000 passes/samples from 1 to .9 but when i moved the slider the reder reset to 0 samples :( , i thought i could play with it while rendering?

thanks

With Poser, in general, if you are not getting a render that is 99% complete within 10 mins, then you've got a lighting issue. There are a few threads on this in the Poser forum here. But in summary, set hotpixel_removal to 0, set caustic_blur to 1. If using daylight or environment lighting this will most likely fix 99% of hotpixel situations. If you are using emitters for lighting, use large, single polygon emitters (the ones that the Create Emitters From Lights script generates). If your hotpixels are behind glass (ie. there is a specular surface between your light source and the hotpixel), there are some other solutions for this.

[EDIT: Also, yes, you can change the hotpixel_removal slider without reseting the Render. If the render restarted, then it is most likely that Poser sent through a camera change to the plugin so some reason.]
