Can someone please tell me why this mode might be rendering like this? I exported it as an obj from C4D.

Smoothing needs to be on for the paint material. Make sure you exported with normals.

THanks,I know there is a post somewhere in here about setting for exporting objects in different programs but I cant find it. I took your suggestion and went back and exported it from 3DS MAX and was able to choose export normals, I dont think C4D has the option. Came out much better :)
