Hi all,

nice to be here. I'd like to work with octane so very much but I don't get that thing running propperly.

Can anyone help me with this problem?

I can set up simple scenes in blender and play around with the exporter. It works all well in octane - no errors and so on.
But when I try to import a bigger set I get a failiure message like the attached.

Is there a limitation how much objects or tris or what ever can not be imported?

Any help greatly appreciated. I'd love to buy octane but not as a pig in the poke...

Greetings
Rap

I think you have run out of vram. Your 460 is 1 gb and some of that will already be utilised for windows itself for display. It will be OK for basic scenes but quickly limiting when considering textures etc.
You will really need to invest in a graphics card with more vram for Octane use. It helps with viewport responsiveness to put another basic card in and dedicate that to display in the Octane preferences thus freeing up space for Octane data. Depends what sort of work you want to do but 2gb would be a minimum and on up to 6 gb for complex stuff.
You could keep your 460 for display and add a more useful card for Octane provided you have a spare pcie slot (you need 2 wide for most of these higher vram cards) and your power supply is adequate (also need to check availability of connectors.) Go for a Kepler generation card because they are able to load more textures. Beware that each gpu you add loads/runs the same Octane data so you want all your Octane dedicated gpu's to have the same size vram - ie the vram available is the least common amount between the cards, its not additive.
HTH ;)
