I have a GTX 260 running on 197.13 drivers. It works fine but path tracing large scenes has the system grind to a halt.

I thought I'd stick my old 8400GS into the second PCI-E socket but while the fan seems to be turning Windows is ignoring it completely.

Could someone describe the sequence I'd need to go through (if its possible) to get W7 64 to recognise the second card?

The idea situation would be to use the GTX260 most of the time (digital out), except for when I run Octane where I would switch the view to be from the 8400GS (via the analogue in out) and set the renderer to GTX260. Is this possible?

I'm also wondering whether to buy another 260... or 9800

Hi,

i'd recommend using driver sweeper to uninstall all nvidia drivers, then reinstalling the latest ones.
