I know this has been discussed and probably solved, BUT, is can someone describe in a succinct, clear manner, how to best move geometry from Rhino (OBJ) to Octane?
I have run around in circles trying difference units etc., but cannot seem to nail it, and when I do get geometry in, it does not smooth correctly, probably due to scale issues.
I am also unable to smooth objects with LiveDB materials applied - why is this?
Thanks in advance!

Depends on your objects scale really. If it's a small object like a lighter, i would probably use millimeters. For a teapot i would use centimeters and for a house i would use meters. Check if all your vertices are welded, if they aren't you wont be able to smooth your objects. Scale doesn't affect smoothing AFAIK.
